Ciel X Reader~ Halloween Special

    "Master."

I shifted my gaze from the balcony window to the voice behind my shoulder. The balcony window was lite up by the moonlight and illuminated the room. I wore my usual blue coat with the same infamous black eyepatch that covered my right eye.

"Why are you bothering me at this hour, Sebastian?" I asked with my usual firmness, but with a hint of curiosity.

Leaning most of my weight on my cane, I turned around. My eyes widened in surprise at my butler that stood in the center of the room. His usual black coat and pants was replaced by a copy that was neon orange. Only the shoes and the collared shirt he wore under the coat were black. Sebastian had a playful smirk plastered onto his face as his gaze rested on my surprised expression.

    "You forgot what today is?"

"What is it?" I hissed. It wasn't like Sebastian to come barging in my office to talk complete nonsense.

"It's Halloween, my lord. Also known as," He brought his hand up to place in slightly over his heart, and took a large stride towards the large window. "The Day of the Dead." With a flick of his hand, a banner with a skull pattern stretched across my office. "All Hallow's Eve." Sebastian swiftly placed a array of candles on my desk, some were in the shape of pumpkins and others were famous mythical creatures. He stopped abruptly in the center, and smirked evilly at me. His eyes flashed a crimson red as he spoke a few octaves deeper, "Devil's Night."

I turned from away from the balcony window and sat down in the velvet chair that was placed behind a mahogany desk. My sharp blue eyes twitched in annoyance at my smirking butler that stood before me. I rested an elbow on the armrest of my chair and snapped, "That's just a name. What is it really?"

"I'm sure you of all people should know that names have power, my lord." Sebastian pushed over a cart that had a silver platter with a tea set. The tea pot was   a bright white and was decorated with an intricate blue lace pattern that wrapped around the nozzle and body. He picked up a matching tea cup and poured the contents into it.

Of course, I knew the power of names. I'm Ciel Phantomhive, the infamous English noble that watched the queen like a crow. Being just a thirteen year old, I'm dangerously underestimated and carry the pitiful past of my parent's death. Due to this, my name carries a heavy weight among the streets of London.

As Sebastian set the tea cup on a small glass plate in front of me, I replied shortly, "Indeed I do." I looked down at the tea cup in front of me, it was a soothing brown but had an orange tint to its color. I frowned slightly, "It has a shade of orange. What is it?"

Sebastian set the tea pot on the silver platter and glanced up at me. He let out a small chuckle and answered, "Try it for yourself." I picked up the tea cup by its small handle and brought it up to my mouth. Before tasting its warm liquid, I inhaled through my nose allowing its fragrance to travel. It smelt autumnal, like the scent of pies in an oven or a journey though a hay field. I stared down at the liquid, as a warming sensation traveled up my arms from the grasp of the tea cup. Slating the angle ever so slightly, a small amount of hot tea dripped into my mouth.

"Pumpkin spice," I immediately recognized. Sebastian let out a small smile at my correct guess. My shoulder shrugged slightly at its taste. "It's not as bad as I first predicted."

"Master, as you sip on your seasonal tea I shall read you your schedule for tonight." Odd, he usually didn't alter the schedule during the day, and especially not at night.

My eye twitched under my eyepatch, "What are you trying to pull, Sebastian?"

"Ah, master. Tonight, we the Phantomhive butlers, are hosting a costume ball at this very estate. The head of the Phantomhive Estate needs to attend his own ball, of course." I glared at him, as we heard a soft bell ring from downstairs. "Ah, it seems we need a costume to greet your first guest." A few yells from down stairs followed the bell, as Sebastian held out my costume.

He held out a large gray cloak and a pair of sharp teeth. "Your being a vampire, my lord."

I scowled in disgust, "Good luck trying to put that thing on me."

Sebastian smirked down evilly at me, and his eyes flashed a blood red for a split second until towering over me.

                                                    -=-=-=-

I walked slowly down the orange fabric stairs down to the main chamber of the estate. A look of disgust was planted on my face as I toyed with the sleeve of the long cloak. My tongue touched a fake fang that was attached to my tooth, which made my mouth feel incredibly uncomfortable. On top of that, Sebastian delighted himself by making blood- his blood trail from my lower lip and down the front of my neck. To be brutally honest, I didn't look as bad as I expected.

As I entered the chamber, I was greeted by two of Sebastian's anticipated guests. They were both girls- one being my age and the other was probably older than her by at least a couple years. The older girl had on a petite white dress that had laced straps, and reached to her mid thigh. A pair of rabbit ears was propped up on her head, and a puffy white ball laid on the bottom of her back. She had long brown hair flowed behind her, and bright green orbs that looked at Sebastian with admiration.

The younger girl looked more solemn and stern than her companion beside her. She wore a tight black laced dress, with black fish nets running up her legs and arms. Fingerless gloves were slide on her tiny hands, and black laced up boots covered her ankles. Her [H/C] hair with red highlights was curled, which allowed loops of hair to fall across her dress perfectly. Sticking out of her top lip was a pair of familiar white fangs that were tinted red with fake blood. A pair of [E/C] eyes glanced at her friend who was absorbed into my butler.

I turned towards the group and approached them with a slow stride. Sebastian caught my figure heading towards him, and bowed slightly.

"Master, this is Lady [F/N] from the [L/N] Estate. And Lady Alice from the Honeybee Estate." Sebastian introduced with a small smile.

"Ah, I'm Ciel Phantomhive, head of this estate." I held out a hand for [Y/N] to grab. She griped it softly, and so did Alice. "Please enjoy our hospitality for the evening."

"No way, we're both vampires." [Y/N] pointed out.

I rolled my eyes and walked away to another group of guests. However, I was close enough to hear Alice whisper softly to her friend, "He's shorter than I expected."

Out of the corner of my eye, three figures scramble around the table trying to put plates of food in their designated places. The plates were filled with autumn inspired desserts such as pumpkin pie and apple cobbler. The table had two large jack-o-lanterns that sat on the edges of the table.

It makes me wonder. How did Sebastian organize this whole costume ball without me knowing? It's possible if he started decorating weeks in advanced, but I just walked through the main chamber hours ago, and nothing was out of place. I frowned at the fake cobwebs that were spread across the ceiling and glanced at the orange and black streamers around the chamber.

    "Oi, Ciel."

I turned at the feminine voice that was detected behind me. [Y/N] stood there around the same height as me, and her fangs poked out of her top lip as she pouted. "Ciel, why don't you stop frowning and enjoy the party?"

"I don't enjoy parties," I hissed in annoyance.

"Start enjoying it then," she said sharply.

"You have no authority over me, none at all."

Silence dawned on us, we stood in our places. My back was to her. And her gaze lingered on my figure for a few moments until she whispered, "We only want to see you smile Ciel." My frown deepened, but her presence still remained. She added quietly, "Especially me."
This is what...a week late? I apologize for lateness, and hope you enjoy it.
