Erwin X Male!Reader X Rivaille~ Paperwork?

    "Come in."

I creaked open the door, allowing just enough space for my body to fit through. I approached the Commander's desk, and he looked up from his paper work to be greeted with my presence.

I looked at him just long enough to see him take a short intake of breath from my presence, and the slight pause between the tappings of his pen. Papers were cluttered around his desktop, and an ink well sat as a paper weight on a large stack of files. Commander Erwin set down his ink pen and looked at me so fiercely with his blue eyes.

He never said another word, as if waiting for me to speak. I felt nervous, like he would scold me for something like a strap of my harness placed wrong.

"You requested me, sir." I informed, making sure to shoot my superior a salute. It must of turned out a little sloppy because the corner of his lips turned south.

He stared at me a little longer, his eyes softening just lightly. When he noticed he was staring, Commander Erwin pulled a single page from a folder. "I want you to bring this to Rivaille. Try not to mess it up this time."

I nodded vigorously and took the page from his hand, "Consider it done, sir."

I turned on my heel and walked towards the door of his office. I glanced back just in time to see a ghost of a smile on my superior's lips, causing him to snap back to his usual expression.

My feet carried me out into the hallway quickly, heat spreading throughout my face. The grin of his chilled me to my core, and I never understood why. I shook off the thought and continued down the hallways towards Corporal Rivaille's office.

The short man should be locked up in his office, doing paperwork all day. I pity him almost, but if he snaps chores at us, he must have a lot of time on his hands.

My masculine hand curled into a fist and knocked against the wood. I waited patiently for his stone-hard voice to call from within the room, but none of that came. I furrowed my eyes together and spotted Petra coming out of the dining hall with a broom in hand.

"Hey Petra, did you see the Corporal lately?" I asked, facing her intently. I folded up the sheet of paper and put it in my breast pocket.

"I heard he's observing the trainees from the rooftop," she said sweetly, but frowned. "I would help you look for him, but her ordered my to clean the dining hall."

"Maybe after I find him I can help you?" I offered.

"You might have to if Heichou is in a bad mood," Petra said, chuckling slightly.

"I'll keep that in mind. Thanks Petra!" I took off down the corridor and up the flight of stairs. I was determined to deliver these papers to my superior, even if it was just paperwork.

Lets just say, I have a bad past with orders. I try my best to carry them out obediently, but something always seems to go wro-

"Ahh!" I yelled, as my foot was caught on one of the steps. My body flung backwards and I tumbled back down the flight of stairs.

My head slammed against the wall, causing me to groan out in pain. I lifted myself off the ground, rubbing the back of my head.

"Are you okay?" I heard Petra yell down the hallway.

"I just tripped on my shoelaces, I'm okay!"

I hurried back up the staircase, being extra cautious when I reached the step I tripped on before. Swinging the doors out onto the rooftop, I glanced around the concrete for a familiar short figure.

My hands gripped onto the safety fence, as I looked at the people spar in the courtyard. I grimaced when a trainee with a blonde bun flipped over a brunette haired guy from the same squad. He groaned loudly and lied on the ground, while the female trainee hovered above him.

I drifted my gaze across the courtyard for the short, stoic Corporal, but I never found him.

Just when I was about to give up, he appeared leaning next to a tree, surveying the trainees. I grumbled and entered the interior of the building again, where I happened to trip and fall down the stairs again.

"Is that you again, [Male Name]?" Petra called, peeking her head out from a hallway.

"Didn't tie my shoes good enough," I grumbled as I walked past her, and out onto the courtyard.

    "Boots don't have shoelaces..."

I managed to walk out there when all of the trainees were getting dismissed, but it seemed the Corporal walked away elsewhere. I frowned, and walked up to the instructor of the trainees to question the Corporal's whereabouts.

"I heard that Squad Leader Hanji accidentally released the hostage titans, and the Corporal was ordered to help her."

A loud roar was audible coming from the concrete patio, and I swung my head in its direction. "Well I better get going, apparently this paper is very important."

As I made my way over towards the released titans, the sound of their roars elevated with each step I took. I must be true lay sick to deliver paperwork while the Corporal was slaying titans with that skill of his. However, I was determined to accomplish an order for once.

I adjusted the 3DMG on my thighs and made sure everything was working; you know, just in case a titan pops out of nowhere.

I knew I was close to my destination when I heard Hanji scream,

    "Rivaille! Don't kill it!"

I walked out into the scene, where the Corporal swooped onto the titan's nape but Hanji protested against killing it.

The short, raven-haired man scolded Hanji while holding on to the titan's hair, "What's the use of capturing it? It's still pathetic, dead or alive."

I saw the crazed doctor swing her arms in the air, "It's for science!"

She immediately ate those words, when the titan reached behind its back and grabbed Rivaille. Its fingers wrapped tightly around his small form, completely immobilizing him.

I gulped and latched a grapple at the back of its head, while the Corporal grimaced when the titan opened its mouth.

"Hurry up and kill it. I can already see what he ate for dinner." He said, completely unfazed by the position he was in.

I immediately obeyed, and propelled myself towards the nape of its neck, killing it in the process. Its blood splashed everywhere, and the Corporal seemed to get a bucket full of it. The titan let out a painful cry, and dropped him onto the ground. It dissolved into smoke, and I landed on the concrete patio.

"Hanji, next time you get a titan, make sure you force it to brush its teeth." Rivaille said, grimacing at the blood that seeped into his cravat. He glared at me from under his ebony bangs. "And you are washing all of my clothes for that horrible stunt you call a kill."

I blinked in surprise when he gave me a punishment for saving his life, but I guess that's just how he takes things.

"Oh shorty! You're denying the fact that this Cadet just saved your butt!" Hanji teased, slapping the back of the Corporal's head. She laughed, and acted as if the whole life-threatening scene never happened.

"Oh, shut up," he hissed, his teeth grinding against each other. My superior turned back to me, and grumbled, "Thanks for saving me."

"What was that?" Hanji asked, leaning her ear towards him.

    "I'm not repeating it!"

I let out a cheeky smile, and pulled the paper from my breast pocket. "Here, sir. The Commander requested me to hand this to you."

The Corporal snatched the note, and unfolded it. As he skimmed over the words, his eyes widened slightly. When Hanji noticed this, she reached over his shoulder and laughed.

     "What is it?"

Before Hanji can answer, Corporal Rivaille snapped a hand over her mouth. "Nothing!"

I reached over Mr. Grumpy's shoulder, peeking at the paper Erwin gave him. Laughter erupted out of my mouth, as I mentally read the words.

    'Stay away from [Male Name].'

This is probably the best and worst thing I ever written. XD I just had to make you fall down the stairs twice, cause I'm awesome like that. *Gilbert mode*
